Mohit Sharma/Karauli. There has been a sudden drop in the prices of vegetables amid the scorching heat and the prices of almost all vegetables have become cheaper. In such a situation, the common man has heaved a sigh of relief due to the reduction in vegetable prices amid the scorching heat. Although the prices of vegetables remain expensive every year during the summer season, but this time the prices of vegetables have come down considerably in the scorching heat. The special thing is that this time the prices of seasonal vegetables are also lower than last year. These days in Karauli Sabzi Mandi, the prices of all vegetables from regular vegetables to seasonal vegetables are ranging between ₹ 20 to ₹ 40 per kg.
According to the traders, the prices of vegetables remain high in the summer season because they get spoiled quickly. But this year, in comparison to last year, despite the intense heat, the prices of all the vegetables are cheaper. The main reason for the low prices of vegetables is said to be higher production. Sitaram Sharma, who came to buy vegetables at the vegetable market, said that a few days ago the prices of the vegetables were very high. But now the prices of every vegetable have fallen. He said that whether it is potatoes or any other vegetable, the prices of all have fallen and despite this much heat, all the vegetables are available fresh and good every day.
Prices decreased due to increased production
On the other hand, wholesaler Ashish Jadoun says that the sudden decrease in vegetable prices is due to increased production. Due to increased production in the last season and now due to increased vegetable production in the local area, there is an increase in the availability of vegetables. This is the reason why vegetable prices have come down. He said that due to the decrease in vegetable prices, customers are getting peace and comfort. Because they are getting vegetables within their budget. But due to this, the traders and farmers have definitely suffered a little loss. He said that these days the prices of almost all the vegetables have come down. Especially, everyday vegetables have become very cheap.
